Healing can be difficult, but it’s so worth it once you grow through it.

I’m from a small town in the middle of Wisconsin. From a young age, various changes and events seemed to consistently occur in my life. These events were typically traumatic or difficult in nature, such as the loss of my biological mother to the disease of addiction, divorce between my father and stepmother, personal experience with self-harm, body dysmorphia, irregular eating habits, and anxiety. In early adulthood, I began experiencing issues with substance use. I quickly became the stereotypical “picture” of an addict. I lost a lot and ruined a lot of familial relationships and friendships. Thankfully, now with six years clean, I’ve been able to actively recover from the disease of addiction while working on healing the parts of myself that were so deeply impacted in my childhood.
